Woman shot in face with Airsoft gun

On Sept. 23, an officer with Winthrop University Police Department responded to an incident involving a woman being shot in the face with an Airsoft gun.

The victims, identified as Winthrop Affiliates, reported seeing a white hatchback accompanied by two individuals near Courtyard at Winthrop. While in close proximity to the vehicle, the victims noticed a female in the front seat and a male in the backseat. Both victims stated that the male suspect then quickly pulled out an Airsoft gun and shot one of the victims in the face.

According to the Reporting Officer R/O, the victims and surrounding witnesses were unable to identify the license plate number or provide a detailed description of the female and male suspect inside the vehicle.

After the incident, the victim’s face was also examined by the R/O and no major injuries were reported. Currently, all suspects in the incident are still unknown.
