Police Blotter 9/4

On Sept. 4, Officer Carver and the R/O (Reporting Officer) were conducting patrol at the intersection of Cherry Road and Evergreen Lane in the city limits of Rock Hill. During this time, the R/O observed the listed vehicle disregard a traffic signal that was indicating red. 

 

The R/O initiated a traffic stop on the listed vehicle and made contact with the defendant who had no Winthrop affiliation. While speaking with the officers, the defendant stated that she was not paying attention due to the fact that she was trying to contact her husband on her phone. After receiving and checking the defendant’s credentials through NCIC, it was determined that the defendant’s driver’s license was suspended. Communications also confirmed that the license was suspended. 

 

The defendant was issued a citation for Driving Under Suspended first offense and a Warning for Disregarding a Traffic Signal. The defendant was cited and released at the scene.
