I C Juicy brings a new flavor to Rock Hill

I C Juicy, a rolled ice cream and tea café, recently had their grand opening

I C Juicy is located in The Commons at Winthrop on Cherry Road, between Earth Fare and Dollar Tree. On Mondays through Thursdays, it is open from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m., and on Fridays and Saturdays it is open from 12 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. On Sundays, it is open from 12 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

I C Juicy features 8 flavors of cold fried, rolled ice cream: Morning Latte, Oreo’s Secret, Strawberry Lady, Key Lime Pie, Monkey Business, Miss Nilla Wafer, S’mores Galore, Chocolate Madness, and Berry Punch. They currently have only one size, which costs $6.25, and offer 6 free toppings with your purchase.

They also offer “light bulb” Boba milk tea, which is served in a large-sized light bulb instead of a cup, for $4.95. They serve fruit tea with pop Boba for $3.25, fruity smoothies for $4.35, and fruity slush for $3.85.

On my visit to I C Juicy, I got the delicious Oreo’s Secret rolled ice cream with teddy grahams, an extra Oreo, strawberry Pocky sticks, a roasted marshmallow, and whipped cream. The portions are large, with six rolls per cup. How the final product looks depends on the toppings, and each employee has their own way of turning your ice cream rolls into a work of art.

The only downside, other than a steep price, would be the wait time. Because this is cold fried and hand rolled ice cream, it takes a lot longer than most ice cream places. The process, however, is always interesting to watch, as you see the liquid of their base turn into a masterpiece. Although I waited for more than ten minutes, it was worth the wait. The texture of the ice cream was smooth but less creamy than regular ice cream. It had a strong but pleasant flavor, and the toppings I chose paired perfectly with my ice cream.

The store is a bit small and cramped, with a shortage of sitting areas, and during rush times, the shop is filled to the brim with customers. The serving counter takes up most of the room, which makes it difficult to maneuver at times. However, the staff is friendly and does their best to accommodate customers and work efficiently.

Overall, the steep price of their ice cream and cramped space may turn some away, but the delicious taste and friendly environment are worth the hassle. I recommend giving I C Juicy a try because it is an enjoyable and different experience. They have a fun and colorful store layout with a good variety of flavors and toppings, so everyone can find something they enjoy.
