Winthrop Athletics Unveils BSN Sports and Adidas Partnership

The new collaboration brings cutting-edge performance gear and a fresh style to Eagle student-athletes, uniting tradition with innovation on and off the field.

The athletics department at Winthrop University launched a high-impact partnership with Adidas and BSN Sports. The deal will redefine how the university outfits its athletic programs and engages its community. 

For Winthrop’s collegiate teams, Adidas will provide all sports gear, footwear, and equipment. BSN Sports will oversee customization and distribution, guaranteeing prompt delivery and tailored assistance. 

Although the athletics department has been with Adidas for 5 years. The university sees this partnership between both BSN Sports and Adidas as a strategic move to elevate its competitive edge and visual identity. 

“Our coaches and student-athletes seem to really enjoy Adidas apparel…our programs really enjoy Adidas shoes, so that was a direction that most of our programs wanted to continue with Adidas,” said Chuck Rey, Winthrop’s Athletic Director. 

Student-athletes will train and compete in gear designed for elite performance. Coaches and staff will benefit from streamlined ordering and access to cutting-edge resources. 

Winthrop intends to introduce fresh branding and uniforms that combine classic elements with cutting-edge style. In order to generate excitement on campus and in the community, the university will also introduce fanwear collections. 

BSN Sports delivers many years of expertise and a customized strategy to collaborations with colleges. The business will collaborate directly with Winthrop to guarantee that each team gets reliable, superior service. 

“BSN is like the Amazon of sports…We have already worked and established a relationship with BSN Sports and BSN Sports has provided us with all sorts of equipment before the partnership, but they didn’t do any apparel with us until this announcement of the collaboration,” stated Rey.

Winthrop Athletics will debut the new Adidas and BSN sports collaboration in the Fall 2025 season. The rollout includes launch events, social media campaigns, and alumni engagement opportunities. 

“In the different world of this name, image and likeliness and revenue sharing with athletes creating their own brand, in order for them to be in Adidas apparel that helps them with their own marketing and creating their own brand…our student athletes seem to really appreciate this partnership and what we do with Adidas,” stated Ray. 

This collaboration signifies a new era for Winthrop Athletics, not just a change in apparel. Winthrop University confidently enters the future of collegiate sports with Adidas and BSN Sports on board.
