Marijuana and fentanyl possession on Constitution Blvd.

The Winthrop Police Department assisted another agency with the handling of an intoxicated subject on August 28. The subject was found with marijuana, fentanyl, and other various pills in a bag on the intersection of Constitution Blvd. and Fargo St. 

Ongoing plunger prank reported to police

A student living in Phelps Hall called for assistance on the night of August 29 after four subjects left a plunger at their door, knocked, and ran off. This has been a continuous issue for the complainant. The officer was able to contact some subjects but has yet to identify the pranksters.

Medical emergency at West Center

A student playing basketball at the West Center courts on August 31 called for help regarding a self-inflicted injury. Their knee was found to be dislocated and the EMS soon arrived to assist the subject, who was then transported to Piedmont Medical Center. 

Student intimidated by paintball gun

A resident of Phelps Hall reported that a fellow student had been threatening to shoot other students with a paintball gun on the night of August 31. After she met with an officer, the complainant claimed to have been personally subject to these threats. 

The subject was questioned by an officer, who denied doing anything of the sort. When the complainant was revisited, she changed her story and claimed to have just been shown the gun. Both are scheduled to meet with the Dean of Students to share their perspectives and resolve any conflicts.
