Memoria Fresse game review

With final exams coming up and mobile games taking priority over console games, it’s no surprise that video games are a good way to relieve stress and introduce us to new stories. Games can also act as a sort of gateway to new series, opening users to a variety of media like shows and books. One of my previous loves is Star Wars, which attracted me to books and video games to learn more about the world, and I found something that increases my interest in a series from Japan.

“Memoria Fresse” is a mobile ”gacha”  game from Crunchyroll Games and Criware that is adapted from Japan based on the hit Japanese media franchise “Is it Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon” or “Danmachi” for short. This series was created by Fujino Ōmori, and includes an ongoing light novel series, manga series, and anime series in Japan. It is also being adapted and sold in the United States. “Memoria Fresse” offers players easy gameplay, with a variety of ways to improve, attracting gamer interest for the story the game inhabits.

The game recaps the story of the first season of “Danmachi,” taking place in the fantasy world of Orario, where gods have established familias with adventures fighting monsters in a local dungeon. You start the game as Bell Cranel, a rookie adventurer who is eager to prove himself and improve with the help of new friends and his goddess, Hestia. The game provides the player opportunities to play with multiple characters as you follow Bell’s journey and meet other interesting characters from the show to fight monsters and explore the dungeon.

Gameplay-wise, the game features use your finger to move your character around the hub area and during battle sequences. The battle is turn-based, with you and the monsters taking turns in fighting using basic or special attacks. At the end of each battle chapter, you are graded for your performance and rewarded. Each character has a level, you can upgrade the level status and your character’s personal stats like strength and health. Completing a chapter can unlock extra modes and allow interaction with various characters to learn more about them.

One of the interesting features in the game is the “Gacha” feature for earning characters in your party. For completing missions and interacting with characters, you will be rewarded with iris crystals that can be used to roll a gacha to gain a new character for your party. Each gacha character can range from two to four stars, noting their power and health, in part, while leveling them up. While you have the option to pay for crystals using actual money, earning them by performing missions isn’t that much of a chore and can be collected easily.

Another feature for “Memoria” Fresse is the variety of events that can keep the player coming back for fun events, allowing chances to gain new costumes for your characters. Only getting this game recently, I fell in love with the yearly crossover events that the series has with other anime series that have the characters from “Danmachi” interact with characters from other anime series in original stories. If you’re a fan of “Danmachi,” you would love seeing your favorite characters interact with other characters from different shows.

Overall, “Memoria Fresse” is an enjoyable experience for gamers who are interested in the world of “Danmachi” and can be played leisurely if you don’t have a lot of time to commit to it. I’m enjoying so far, so I hope to see you fight in the dungeon. From Japan, “Memoria Fresse” is available on Android and Apple devices, such as phones and tablets. The game is free to download and is rated 13+.
