Much of the world waited in anticipation for Apple’s new releases to be televised this past week. Apple has released three new iPhones and an Apple Watch: iPhone Xs, iPhone Xs Max, iPhone XR, and the Apple Watch series 4.
iPhone Xs
According to Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO, “The iPhone Xs is the most advanced iPhone they’ve ever created.” It is made with a surgical grade stainless steel. It features a 5.8 inch screen on the diagonal. The A12 bionic processor makes it the smartest and most powerful smartphone of its generation. The Xs also has an updated camera. The camera now has edit features accessible while taking photos. When you tap the shutter button while you are taking a picture, the camera takes four different frames at once to create zero shutter lag. At the same time, it also catches four more secondary frames to capture the moment in seconds and to bring up highlights. Additionally, the camera is shooting long exposure frames to capture shadow detail. After the camera takes all of these frames, it picks the best ones and merges them together for you, creating the perfect picture. This phone is available in silver, gold, and space grey. The Xs starts at $999.
iPhone Xs Max
The iPhone Xs Max has the same functions as the Xs, the only difference being the size. The Xs Max has a 6.5 inch display on the diagonal. It includes four new speakers within the phone. The new speakers, when taking a video, now record the moment as if it were in surround sound, which is also available for the Xs. The phones both come with three different options for storage, some of Apple’s biggest storage capabilities. You can purchase either phone with 64 GB, 256 GB or 512 GB. The Xs Max starts at $1099.
iPhone XR
The iPhone XR has an LCD display with a 6.1inch Liquid Retina on the diagonal. It comes with a single camera system, a 12 mp wide angle camera, and has an hour and a half more battery life than the iPhone 8 Plus. With all the capabilities of the new iPhone Xs and Xs Max, this phone comes with either 64 GB, 128 GB or 256 GB of phone storage. The XR starts at $749.

The watch’s speakers were re-designed to be 50 percent louder than before. The watch can also detect falls. This feature is possible because of the new sensors installed in the hardware. The battery life is now upgraded to a full 18 hours without charge. The watch has a 64 bit processor and new built–in electrodes. These new sensors can detect low heart rate and allows for electrocardiograms, also known as ECGs. This process takes 30 seconds, and the information received after the sensors send the information to the algorithm processor can be located in the Health app that will be set up as a PDF that you can send your doctor or show at your next checkup This feature, Williams was excited to alert media about, is approved by the FDA.
